The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has hinted that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 election, may soon return to the APC, okay.ng reports.
Speaking at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, while addressing members of the Tinubu Support Groups (TSG), Ganduje likened Kwankwaso to a “general wandering in the wilderness” after losing many of his key loyalists to the APC.
Ganduje, a former two-term Governor of Kano State, argued that Kwankwaso’s political strength has significantly diminished following recent defections of his allies from both Kano and the National Assembly to the ruling party. He also described the NNPP as a “dead” political platform, further undermining Kwankwaso’s position.
The APC chairman expressed confidence in the party’s ability to attract more defectors and welcomed the prospect of Kwankwaso rejoining the APC ranks.
