Chelsea FC news: Gary Cahill speaks of pride at equalling club-record winning Premier League run
Gary Cahill
The defender believes Chelsea are operating at the peak of their powers after strengthening their position at the top of the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace.
The Blues equalled a club-record run of 11 consecutive league victories earlier this afternoon, with Diego Costa grabbing the winning goal at Selhurst Park just before half-time.
Today’s triumph also saw Chelsea seal their ninth clean sheet of their winning streak, of which Cahill has been at the heart of.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Cahill said: “We feel very confident. We feel we’re a very strong team, we’ve worked hard at it.
“Physically we’re in good shape and we’ve got some fantastic players in top form.
“We step out on the pitch confident we’re going to do the business. It’s a record we should be very proud of.”
Chelsea next host Bournemouth on Boxing Day, where they will be without key players Costa and N’Golo Kante through suspension , as both picked up their fifth booking of the campaign.
