Mrs Afiniki Dauda, the Special Adviser to the governor of Niger on Empowerment and Social Protection said on Sunday that the state government has deployed 4,149 successful N–Power candidates in the state following an induction exercise.
Dauda in a stated a statement made available in Minna, she said this will enable them have knowledge of what is expected of them by the scheme in their respective locations.
According to the her, a breakdown showed that 2, 883 of the candidates were deployed to N–Teach, 611 to N–Agro while 355 were posted to N–Health.
She said that 299 others were posted to N–Community bringing the total number of those redeployed to 4, 149.
According to her, some other candidates would still be posted after another round of training.
She said that the deployment exercise was done by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), while the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) did the verification.
“We have opted to use our discretion in terms of posting based on the state’s personnel needs.
“The review of the posting of N – Power beneficiaries is ongoing and zero posting issues will be addressed.
“Thirty per cent of the deployment exercise will be revisited to ensure success of the entire programme, ” Dauda said.
She urged all beneficiaries too report to their place of primary assignment immediately as payment of their stipend would soon be made.
The adviser added that the state chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Niger Chapter, Alhaji Abdullahi Muregi, advised the youth to embrace the scheme so as to improve themselves.
