Jose Mourinho has expressed unhappiness despite Manchester United’s 1-0 win at Celta Vigo in their Uefa Europa League semi-final first leg clash on Thursday.
Striker Marcus Rashford scored what turned out to be the game’s only goal as the Red Devils edge closer to the final.
“I am very pleased with the performance but not with the result,” Mourinho said during his post-match press conference.
“At half time it should have been three or at least two but the result is open.
“We played well enough to have result closed but we have to go and play at Old Trafford.
“Let’s hope Old Trafford want us to win because when Old Trafford wants it, we win.”
Mourinho, however, reserved special praise for Rashford.
“Marcus Rashford is a 19-year-old kid who is in love with football,” Mourinho added.
“He stays after training for half an hour to practice taking freekicks and waits for the opportunity.
“He works and works and works so we can forget his age.
“He started the game with a little problem and with all the running he was feeling it.
“We tried to win the match but we missed chances but the team played well, they were compact against a team who are difficult to play against.”
The second leg is at Old Trafford next Thursday with the winners of the tie meeting Ajax or Lyon in the final.
