National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun, says ailing President Muhammadu Buhari is fast recovering from his illness.
Oyegun made this known in an interview with journalists at the end of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting on Friday in Abuja.
President Buhari left the shores of Nigeria on 7 May for a follow-up medical vacation in London.
It was the second time in 2017 the Nigerian leader travelled to the United Kingdom for medical checkup. He had left the country for medical leave on 19 January, returning on 10 March.
“We are glad to inform you that Buhari is recovering in a very robust manner. We hope he takes it easy and when he comes back, I have no doubt at all that we will have a new and active period of activities,” Oyegun said.
He, however, refused to respond to Governor Ayodele Fayose’s comment that the President was on a life support, saying he would do that at an appropriate time.
“If I respond, I will be dignifying him. At the appropriate time, people will answer him. At the appropriate level, at the appropriate time. He is in a different world altogether,” he added.
