Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday departed Abuja for Benue to assess the flood situation in the state.
According to the Presidency, Osinbajo will be visiting the victims of the flood in camps set up for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.
President Buhari had earlier directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to immediately mobilise personnel and resources to come to the aid of the flood victims in Makurdi, Benue state.
Also, the Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jibril, on Monday had called on international donor agencies to support Benue government in tackling the menace of flood in the state.
Jibril also reiterated the federal government’s resolve to assist the state to overcome the disaster.
