The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, has called for an investigation into how the budget for the State House Medical Centre is utilised.
Buhari made the call at a programme in Abuja on Monday, decrying the “lack of facilities”, including syringes, at the centre despite the huge budgetary allocation and ongoing construction there.
Last week, President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Zahra, took to her Instagram page to raise concerns over the poor state of the centre.
Reacting to Zahra’s complaint, the Permanent Secretary, State House, Jalal Arabi, had earlier said plans were on the way to commercialise the State House Medical Centre.
The clinic provides medical services to the President, Vice President and their families, aides, members of staff of the State House and other entitled public servants.
It is also a training facility for house officers and other medical personnel.
