Five Monkeypox patients have been discharged from the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH) in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
Bayelsa’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso- Markson, confirmed the discharge in a statement.
According to him, their discharge followed evaluation by the Chief Medical Director (CMO) of the hospital, Prof Dimie Ogoina.
Furthermore, he disclosed that six patients were currently responding to treatment at the hospital while assuring people of the state that the virus will soon be a thing of the past.
The Commissioner, who commended the Ministry of Health and health workers in the state, called on residents to maintain a healthy lifestyle to avoid another outbreak.
