Two male suicide bombers have attacked a house in Tsilda village in Madagali, Adamawa state, killing a woman and her son.
According to reports, a loud explosion shook Gulak town, during curfew hours around 7:30 pm on Sunday.
The explosion caused panic among residents who relied on phone calls with friends living in different parts of the town to gather information about the blast.
a resident who spoke to Daily Trust newspaper said, ”The curfew runs between 6 pm and 6 am while the explosion occurred around 7:30, we could not go out of the house because soldiers could mistake us for criminals.
”So we made telephone calls to find out about the situation, then a friend living near the scene of the attack informed us that his neighbour’s house was attacked.”
A vigilante member said dismembered bodies of the two attackers and those of their victims were recovered from the scene on Monday morning when residents trooped to witness the damage.
In another attack on Irmirsa community, a Fulani herder was said to have been wounded while cattle and sheep were taken away on Sunday by suspected members of Boko Haram.
The Madagali Local Government Council Chairman, Muhammad Yusuf, said two male attackers sneaked into the village and detonated two bombs, killing themselves and two of their victims.
He also confirmed the attack on Irmirsa community, saying one of the attackers was killed while the military and local hunters were in pursuit of the fleeing insurgents.
