Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has declared his intention to run for second term in office.
The governor disclosed this in a statement made available to Okay Nigeria on Wednesday evening through his chief press secretary, Mohammed Onogwu.
Bello stated that he finally came to conclusion after consulting with the leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC).
The statement reads:
“I would like to inform the good people of the state, the All Progressive Congress family and supporters from the state, the local government areas down to the wards and polling units, as well as various stakeholders, opinion molders, families and friends of my interest to run for a second term in office as the Executive Governor of Kogi state.”
Okay Nigeria had earlier reported that INEC have fixed November 2, 2019, to conduct governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa.
