Freddie Ljungberg, a former Arsenal midfielder has been announced as first-team assistant coach to Gunners manager Unai Emery.
Ljungberg was part of Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ team under Arsene Wenger, he made 325 appearances, scoring 71 goals.
Speaking about the appointment, the former Sweden international said:
I’m really excited by this opportunity to continue helping develop and work with some of the great young players… and to work alongside Unai and his coaching team to help Arsenal win trophies,
I’m looking forward to working in this new structure and to pass on my experience and knowledge about what is needed to succeed at this level.
Meanwhile, Ljungberg’s appointment will take effect from 1st July 2019.
