The federal government has kicked off the special public works programme to employ 774,000 Nigerians.
It can be recalled that the National Assembly had earlier suspended the exercise following a disagreement between the Minister of State for Employment, Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo, and the National Assembly Joint Committee on Labour Employment and Productivity.
However, the government via Twitter on Tuesday announced that State Selection Committees for the programme have been inaugurated and have commenced work.
It said: “The Special Public Works Programme of the Federal Government has kicked off nationwide.
“The State Selection Committees have been inaugurated and have commenced work.”
