Okay.ng understands the ranking also showed that the Nigeria national men’s football team also retained their fifth position in Africa.
The three-time AFCON champions also secured 1,492 points with their victories against Liberia and Cape Verde in the World Cup qualification games.
Senegal retained the first position in Africa and 20th in the world with 1,555 points, while Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles are now 25th globally and second on the continent. Algeria and Morocco rank 3rd and 4th respectively in Africa.
Belgium remain unmoved as the best team in the world, followed by Brazil, while England climbed to third.
France and Italy, newly crowned champions of Europe, complete the global top five.
Denmark broke into the top 10 for the first time since 2019 with 1,658 points.
The most notable climbs among the top 50 came from Iran (22nd, +4), Russia (37th, +4), Norway (39th, +4), Scotland (45th, +4) and Northern Ireland (47th, +4).
