The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced the dedication of its Consumer Toll-Free Number 622 as the 2023 Presidential Election Incident Hotline.
This comes as a proactive step towards ensuring that voters and the public across Nigeria can report any issues that may affect them during the upcoming Presidential Election on February 25, 2023.
According to the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NCC, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, the hotline will serve as a second-level complaints center through which consumers of telecommunications services can report any issues that may arise during the election.
The move is to support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in ensuring the conduct of a hitch-free election.
“However, in consideration of the critical nature of this election and to alleviate emergent issues that may arise at the voting centers, or any parts of Nigeria thereof, the Commission has considered it expedient to dedicate the Toll-Free Number 622 to accommodate all types of complaints on election day,” he said.
The hotline will be manned by top management officials of the NCC and will be open to the public from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The aim is to resolve any issues by contacting and conveying such to relevant agencies, authorities, or organizations for timely resolution.
Members of the public are urged to take advantage of the Election Incident Monitoring Centre Hotline, 622, and report any issues that may arise during the election.
