As the first half drew to a close, it seemed that United would enter the break with a narrow lead. But moments before halftime, Anthony Martial seized an opportunity deep into injury time, capitalizing on a well-executed set piece to score a spectacular goal. This win means Manchester United have confirmed their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The home side only need a point from their last two games of the season to secure a place in Europe’s primary club competition next season after Livepool were held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa last Saturday at Anfield.
