Following the remarkable triumph of last year’s inaugural Lagos Adire Festival, Ecobank Nigeria has announced its plans to host the second edition of the event later this year.
The highly anticipated festival, with its theme of “Adire Lagos Experience,” aims to bolster Nigeria’s tourism, culture, and creative industry through the utilization of Adire as a significant catalyst.
Notably, high-profile exhibitors, vendors, and dignitaries from various parts of the world have already expressed their keen interest in participating.
Korede Demola-Adeniyi, Head of Consumer Banking at Ecobank Nigeria, unveiled the second edition during a press conference in Lagos.
She emphasized that the festival embodies the bank’s commitment to promoting culture and enhancing tourism throughout Africa.
With the resounding success of the inaugural edition still fresh in memory, Ecobank Nigeria anticipates the attendance of esteemed exhibitors, expatriates, influencers, and dignitaries hailing from all walks of life, as well as members of the public over the three-day extravaganza.
Demola-Adeniyi enthused, “The bank is encouraged by the success of the maiden edition which took place last year. It is in line with our brand promise as a pan-African institution to promote culture and boost tourism on the continent. We expect topflight exhibitors, expatriates, influencers, dignitaries from all walks of life, and members of the public at the three-day event.”
The festival will feature a diverse range of masterclasses, exhibitions, and networking opportunities with entrepreneurs, shoppers, and anyone passionate about Adire’s production or trade. Ecobank has meticulously crafted a warm and serene ambiance to ensure participants’ comfort and safety throughout the event.
Demola-Adeniyi also mentioned, “Participation is free, and you are welcome to invite family and friends to come over to witness the beautiful event. This exhibition also presents an opportunity not only to sell and buy products but to experience the luxuriance of our culture. In addition to the wonderful display of Adire clothing and products, there will be masterclasses on Adire production, picture-perfect moments, and music to vibe.”
Ecobank expressed its admiration for the resounding success of the inaugural edition, which served as a driving force behind their commitment to staging the second edition.
The upcoming three-day exhibition is set to grace the ultra-modern Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC) complex located in the prestigious area of Victoria Island, Lagos.
The festival will commence on Friday, June 9, and conclude on Sunday, June 11, 2023, with daily activities starting from 12:00 noon.
Distinguished guests expected to grace the occasion include top government officials from Lagos, Ogun, and neighboring states, along with prominent figures such as Olori Ronke Ogunwusi, CEO of Adire Oodua Textile Hub and wife of the Ooni of Ife; Joke Ladoja, CEO of Dye Lab; Funmi Sosanya, Creative Director of Afume Global Concepts; and Moyo Ogunseinde, CEO of Aga Culture & Upbeat, among others.
