The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is preparing to showcase the significant achievements it has accomplished in promoting indigenous content within the telecommunications sector at the second edition of the Nigerian Telecommunications Indigenous Content Expo (NTICE 2023).
The event is scheduled to take place from August 22 to 24, 2023, at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
With the theme “Harnessing Indigenous Content for Economic Growth: Networking to Boost Investment,” the NCC aims to gather stakeholders for a remarkable event following the success of the inaugural edition last year.
Coordinated by the Commission’s Nigeria Office for Developing the Indigenous Telecom Sector (NODITS), NTICE focuses on the effective implementation of the National Policy on the Promotion and Implementation of Indigenous Contents in the Telecommunications Sector (NPPIC).
The expo is open to participants from various sectors, including indigenous telecom operators, manufacturers, regulators, government agencies, policymakers, innovators, industry leaders, startups, academia, and global experts.
These participants will have the opportunity to showcase their products, services, innovative solutions, and new technologies.
The Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) of 2003 empowers the NCC to encourage local and foreign investments in the Nigerian communications industry, introduce innovative services and practices, and promote Nigerian participation in the ownership, control, and management of communications companies.
NTICE 2023 aligns with the NCA’s provisions and aims to promote the four focus areas of the NPPIC: Manufacturing, Service, People, and Research and Development.
NTICE has established itself as a pivotal gathering of stakeholders, providing a platform for the exchange of diverse ideas that advance the utilization of indigenous content in Nigeria’s telecommunications industry.
Participation in the event requires formal registration ahead of the event date. The NCC has set up a registration link (www.ntice.ncc.gov.ng), and participants are encouraged to complete their registration before August 22, 2023.
In a recent interaction with the NCC’s in-house media, Prof. Umar Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, emphasized that NTICE is Nigeria’s largest annual indigenous telecoms, tech, startups, manufacturing, and innovation event.
He highlighted that the expo creates powerful connections and valuable relationships, showcasing the achievements and vast potential of a tech-driven digital economy.
The 2023 NTICE Expo will spotlight the government’s accomplishments in indigenous content for the telecom sector and offer a platform for participants to showcase their products, services, innovative solutions, and new technologies.
