Former governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong, has strongly denounced the murder of the state APC Publicity Secretary, Sylvanus Namang, by unidentified gunmen in Pankshin, Plateau state.
Okay.ng reports that on Saturday night, assailants stormed a relaxation center, fatally shooting the APC spokesman at close range, resulting in his immediate demise.
Expressing profound shock, Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, through a press statement endorsed by his media aide, Simon Makut, described the incident as barbaric, devastating, and unfortunate.
Lalong called upon law enforcement agencies to swiftly intervene and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the untimely demise of the party official.
He cautioned against premature speculation regarding the motive behind the assassination, emphasizing that it is premature to draw conclusions. Lalong emphasized that Namang’s death is a significant loss to his family, the APC in Plateau state, and the nation as a whole.
In a gesture of condolence, the former governor extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, praying for divine comfort during this trying period.
He assured that the APC fraternity would leave no stone unturned in uncovering the perpetrators and ensuring they face justice.
