Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that forward Gabriel Jesus is facing a minor injury setback, casting doubt over his availability for the upcoming Premier League fixture against Newcastle United on Saturday.
Jesus was notably absent from training with the rest of the squad as they prepared for the crucial match. Arteta confirmed that the Brazilian striker experienced a small setback in his recovery from a knee injury.
“We could not resolve it as quickly as we wanted and he had a small reaction in training again,” Arteta explained.
“We didn’t want to take any more risks because he has been out for quite a while and he is a player that we need at his best. We decided to give him a few more days.”
