Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has showered praise on his players following their dramatic 4-3 victory against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
Amad Diallo’s last-gasp goal in extra time secured a remarkable win for the Red Devils in what has been hailed as one of the greatest FA Cup ties ever witnessed at Old Trafford.
Reflecting on the pulsating encounter, Ten Hag lauded his team’s performance, particularly highlighting their resilience and belief in clinching victory against a formidable opponent like Liverpool.
“The first 35 minutes I think was the best minutes from our season,” Ten Hag remarked in an interview with ITV.
“We were really there, acting as a team. But then gaps in between the lines and you can’t allow this against Liverpool. Then they outplay you.
“And also after half-time, it continues.
“We had to change. We went into the risk, we went into one against one, and the players were wonderful – the mentality, the attitude was so great.
“They had strong belief to win this game. We went for it and we got it.”
