Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has visited the family of the late make-up artist, Abigail Frederick, who tragically lost her life in a boat mishap alongside Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, in Anambra State.
During the condolence visit, Governor Eno expressed deep sympathy for the bereaved family and offered compensation as a gesture of support.
According to a statement by the chief press secretary to the governor, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno demonstrated compassion by personally visiting the family’s compound in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area.
He assured the family of his solidarity during their time of grief and acknowledged the tragic loss of Abigail Frederick, a young woman who recently completed her Youth Service and was pursuing her passion.
As part of the compensation package, Governor Eno granted automatic employment in the State Civil Service to the deceased’s elder sister and directed the renovation of the family house to modern standards.
Additionally, he pledged assistance to the two undergraduate sisters of the late make-up artist who are currently studying at the University of Uyo.
Governor Eno emphasized the importance of standing by citizens in times of adversity, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting and uplifting families affected by such tragedies.
