The ongoing rivalry between two of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, Davido and Wizkid, escalated to new heights as Davido issued a bold challenge for a same-day song release showdown.
In a fiery response to Wizkid’s recent remarks, Davido questioned the relevance of his rival’s recent musical output and asserted his own dominance in the industry.
He cast doubt on Wizkid’s career trajectory, suggesting that his own string of hits far outweighs any recent success his rival may have experienced.
“That’s what I thought. Nothing to say, exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardising my millions of USD of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again,” he said.
With confidence bordering on bravado, Davido declared himself ready for the showdown, boasting an arsenal of 80 ready-to-launch hits.
He challenged Wizkid to join him in releasing new music simultaneously, daring his rival to prove himself against the backdrop of his own musical prowess.
“I have hits; he doesn’t. Tell him to let’s drop it. Darkness vanishes, and they give birth to him. Very well, he should drop. I’m ready. I’ve got 80 hits ready to go. Ayo, please activate me. He didn’t fit, solo short, bitch.”
“It’s so funny how the whole industry is scared of a 4-foot guy like him. I’m short too, but if you see him in person, you’ll just giggle, idiot,” Davido added.
This latest development comes amid a social media storm sparked by Wizkid’s upload of a leaked video allegedly depicting Davido in a vulnerable moment.
The video, which circulated widely in April, stirred tensions between the two artists and their respective fan bases, further fueling the ongoing rivalry.
