President Bola Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Wednesday after a two-leg foreign trip, according to an announcement from his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
President Tinubu embarked on his journey on April 23, traveling first to The Netherlands and then proceeding to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend the Special Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) from April 28 to 29, 2024.
However, six days after the event concluded, the President did not return to Nigeria, leading to speculation about his whereabouts and well-being. Despite rumors suggesting he might be undergoing medical treatment abroad, details remained undisclosed, contributing to public uncertainty.
In a brief statement shared on his X handle on Tuesday, Bayo Onanuga confirmed President Tinubu’s imminent return, clarifying that the President, alongside his aides, would be arriving from Europe on Wednesday.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with his aides, will return to Nigeria tomorrow from Europe,” stated Mr. Onanuga.
