Islamic militant group, ISIS has accepted Boko Haram’s pledge of allegiance with praise
Islamic militant group, ISIS has accepted Boko Haram’s pledge of allegiance with praise, accepting the show of loyalty and promising further expansion.
In a rare audio statement, as reported by AFP, Abu Muhammad al Adnani, the spokesman for the Islamic State group, called the gesture ‘from the brothers in Western Africa’ a ‘new door to immigrate,’ and said that Muslims should travel to join their ranks in Nigeria if they were unable to cross borders into Syria and Iraq.
The AFP report also quoted the ISIS rep. in the audio tape saying;
‘We announce to you to the good news of the expansion of the caliphate to West Africa because the caliph… has accepted the allegiance of our brothers of the Sunni group (Arabic name for Boko Haram) for preaching and the jihad.’
Boko Haram had posted its message online last week, calling on Muslims everywhere to recognize Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as Caliph, leader of ISIS and pledged to him their obedience and loyalty.
