The Nigerian police have reportedly arrested Popular Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan for alleged cyberstalking and harassment of the crown prince of Benin, Ezelekhae Ewuare.
The arrest follows a petition filed by Prince Ewuare’s legal team, which alleges that the singer has been attempting to contact the prince against his wishes and has engaged in harassing behavior, both online and offline.
According to the petition, Cynthia Morgan allegedly physically followed Prince Ewuare to his workplace and subsequently resorted to posting false information about him on social media platforms.
Despite receiving a warning letter from the prince’s legal representatives urging her to cease her actions, Cynthia Morgan purportedly continued to stalk Prince Ewuare on social media.
The legal document also suggests that the singer may be suffering from mental health issues, citing her persistent attempts to send love messages to Prince Ewuare against his explicit wishes.
Screenshots of text messages allegedly sent by Cynthia Morgan to Prince Ewuare dating back to 2022 have surfaced online. In one of the messages, she expressed disillusionment after an encounter with the prince, lamenting the loss of her romanticized perception of him.
Additionally, Cynthia Morgan claimed in the messages that the prince’s opinions about her were influenced by individuals in his circle.
