Bayern Munich has named Vincent Kompany as the new head coach on a three-year contract, despite his recent stint with Burnley, which ended in relegation from the Premier League.
The 38-year-old Belgian expressed enthusiasm for the challenge ahead.“I’m looking forward to the challenge at FC Bayern,” Kompany said.
“As a coach, you have to stand for who you are as a person: I love having possession of the ball, being creative and we also have to be aggressive on the pitch and brave.”
Kompany stated his eagerness to work with the players and build a cohesive team, confident that success will follow once a strong foundation is established.
Bayern Munich aim to reclaim dominance in European football, following a trophyless season since the 2011-12 campaign.
