President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the official residence of the Vice President, which had been abandoned for 14 years.
The residence, which was started in 2010 and abandoned in 2015, was completed by Tinubu’s administration in January 2024.
The President reiterated his commitment to accountability, transparency, and good governance, stating that abandoning projects after substantial expenditure is wasteful.
He thanked the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, and the FCT Administration for completing the project.
The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for respecting the office of the Vice President and providing the necessary tools for efficient governance.
The residence, located adjacent to the office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation, has facilities such as a mosque, chapel, recreational facilities, and an office for the Wife of the Vice President.
This is the 8th critical project inaugurated by President Tinubu to mark his one year in office.
