The Imo State House of Assembly has suspended four of its members for allegedly plotting to impeach the Speaker, Chike Olemgbe.
The suspended lawmakers are Samuel Otuibe (Ahiazu-Mbaise), Henry Agbasonu (Ezinihitte-Mbaise), Chidiebere Ogbunikpa (Okigwe), and Dominic Ezerioha (Oru-West).
The Speaker announced the suspension during an executive session, citing the need to maintain order and discipline in the House. The suspended members have also been stripped of their committee assignments.
According to sources, the Speaker made some minor changes to the standing committees during the plenary session. The suspended members declined to comment on the development.
