The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2024 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for Unity Schools.
This announcement was made by the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, during a press briefing on Tuesday.
The examination, conducted on June 1, 2024, was taken by candidates in Nigeria, Benin Republic, and Togo. Out of 71,291 registered candidates, 66,931 sat for the examination, while 4,360 were absent.
Dr. Sununu revealed that the highest score obtained was 203 out of a maximum obtainable score of 210, while the lowest score recorded was 1, achieved by 13 candidates.
“This year, an unprecedented number of 52 candidates, including 2 from Lagos State and 50 from Rivers State, were involved in examination malpractice,” Dr. Sununu stated.
The Minister also highlighted that the admission process for Unity Schools will continue to be based on 60% merit, as in previous years.
