Nigerian singer and dancer Peter Okoye, one-half of the famous music duo Psquare, has responded to allegations that he had his twin brother, Paul Okoye, arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a recent interview, Peter clarified the situation, shedding light on the events that led to the involvement of the anti-graft agency.
Peter disclosed that the petition he filed was not against his twin brother Paul but rather against their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who also served as Psquare’s manager.
According to Peter, Jude had been secretly diverting the group’s funds into a separate account with the help of his wife.
Peter emphasized that he had specifically instructed his lawyers not to include Paul in the petition, as Paul had no involvement in the alleged financial misappropriation.
He expressed that he was shocked to hear Paul’s interview claiming I ordered the EFCC to arrest him.
Peter further explained that he had attempted to resolve the issue privately with both Paul and Jude, but when his efforts failed to yield a satisfactory outcome, he was left with no option but to file a formal petition against Jude.
“Let’s set the record straight together. Here is the full statement on the recent EFCC issue involving P-SQUARE and our former manager and elder brother, Jude Okoye,” Peter said in a statement.
“I challenge Paul, or anyone else, to produce any petition that I, Peter Okoye, my management, or my legal team ever filed against my twin brother Paul or that even mentions his name.”
