The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has honored Dr. Emmanuel Toyin Taiwo, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, with the prestigious “Pillar of Good Governance” award.
The recognition was conferred during a ceremony held at Iwe Iroyin House, Abeokuta, attended by notable dignitaries, including the Ogun State Head of Service, members of the State Executive Council, Permanent Secretaries, media professionals, and the awardee’s family members.
In Dr. Taiwo’s absence, the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, received the award on his behalf.
Dr. Taiwo, who was recently elevated from Deputy Chief of Staff to Chief of Staff, has been widely commended for his leadership and dedication to public service.
The NUJ described his appointment as a reflection of his commitment to governance, with the Chairman of the Ogun State NUJ, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, noting that his contributions have positively impacted the state’s development.
The award recognizes Dr. Taiwo’s role in advancing policies centered on transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance in Ogun State. The NUJ expressed confidence that his leadership will continue to enhance the state’s administrative efficiency and citizen-focused governance.
