Lagos State University (LASU) will graduate 192 First-Class students during its 28th convocation ceremony, scheduled from April 4 to April 7, 2025, okay.ng reports.
At a press briefing, Vice-Chancellor Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello announced that a total of 8,711 students would receive first-degree certificates. Among them, 3,076 obtained Second-Class Upper, 4,397 earned Second-Class Lower, while 228 graduated with a Pass. Additionally, 17 students will be awarded non-classified degrees.
The university’s Senate has also approved honorary doctorate degrees for two distinguished Nigerians. Brigadier-General Buba Marwa (Rtd.), Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and former Military Governor of Lagos State, will be honored for his contributions to national development.
In a further demonstration of its commitment to academic excellence, LASU will confer the title of Distinguished Professor upon Professor Joseph Abayomi Olagunju, a seasoned scholar with a long history of service at the university.
