Animal Services officers are trying to figure out how two pink chickens ended up roaming the streets in Oregon.
The two pink chickens were first spotted roaming the streets of the Portland waterfront on Thursday.
Nobody in the area knew from where they came or how long they had been there. Multnomah County Animal Services responded to the scene and took the chickens into custody.
Officers will make sure that the chickens are safe, and are trying to identify the owner.
The pink chickens will remain with Animal Services for 72 hours, at which time they would be put up for adoption.
“One of our officers rescued two pink chickens near the waterfront. If you or someone you know has lost two pink chickens , please contact us,” Animal Services said in a statement.
After several days, the owner of the pink chickens, Bruce Whitman, came forward to claim them. He said that he used food coloring to dye the chickens pink.
