After several months in a coma, Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away last night at the age of 22.

Now, TMZ is reporting that police are treating their investigation into her death as a homicide, with Bobbi Kristina’s longtime boyfriend Nick Gordon serving as a person of interest.

Foul play has long been suspected as a result of bruises that were found on Bobbi Kristina’s body when she was discovered unconscious in her bathtub back in January.

Insiders believe that the homicide investigation will focus on Gordon, as he was suspected of abusing Bobbi Kristina and stealing money from her bank accounts in the months leading up to her near drowning.

Several sources have confirmed that Bobbi Kristina was using heroin and other drugs prior to her coma, but police have been reluctant to accept an accidental overdose as her cause of death, which has led many to believe they have information about Gordon that has yet to be made public.

Currently, Gordon is rumored to be hiding out in Florida. He’s hired attorney Jose Baez, who is best known for representing Casey Anthony during her controversial murder trial.

It remains to be seen if Gordon will end up facing criminal charges as a result of Bobbi Kristina’s death, but it’s almost certain that he’ll end up in court at some point.

Even if he’s cleared by an investigation, he’ll most likely be sued for wrongful death by the Brown and Houston families, which means one way or another, Gordon will eventually be forced to defend himself against charges that he murdered Bobbi Kristina.
