Igbo stakeholders and state governors in the South-East, yesterday held a meeting to determine the way forward over the recent pro-Biafra agitations and protests in the region.22.
Those present at the meeting when the decision was arrived at, include: South-East elders, members of the National Assembly, some former governors, and others, Ynaija said.
At the end of the meeting, which was held in Enugu, it was decided by the representatives of South-East stakeholders, that the way forward is dialogue.
The general consensus at the meeting was the setting up of a committee to dialogue with the Federal Government over the ongoing agitation for Biafra.
In a communique issued after the meeting, it said the proposed committee would dialogue with the two major pro-Biafra groups; the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), and the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB).
The two groups in the past few weeks have held series of protests for the immediate release of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and also for secession in order to create a republic of Biafra.
