The wife of the Nigerian president, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, has expressed concern over recent reports of sexual abuse of minors in a school in Kano State.
In a meeting with parents of some of the victims and other concerned women in Aso Rock, she commended “the concerned mothers for taking a bold step in coming out to petition such immoral tendencies in the society.”
According to a statement yesterday by her spokesman, Zakari Nadabo, the meeting followed the receipt of a petition by parents of two of the victims of the sexual abuse.
The statement said the wife of the president promised to take all appropriate actions on the issue.
She also acknowledged the steps being taken by the Kano State government in addressing the issue.
