Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and General Partner of Seven Seven Six, alongside Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook and leader of B Capital, and Laura Chambers, CEO of Mozilla Corporation, will headline Web Summit Qatar 2025, the Middle East’s leading tech event.
The summit will take place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) from February 23–26, 2025, and is expected to draw over 15,000 attendees.
The event promises to delve into the future of technology, innovation, and investment, bringing together some of the world’s most influential tech pioneers and thought leaders.
Alexis Ohanian, known for co-founding Reddit—a platform valued at over $25 billion—will share his journey from building one of the internet’s most iconic platforms to founding Seven Seven Six, a venture capital firm that is reshaping early-stage investments.
Seven Seven Six’s portfolio includes Angel City Football Club, the world’s most valuable women’s sports team, Riverside, a podcasting platform for studio-quality content, and Stoke Space, a company innovating fully reusable rockets.
Eduardo Saverin, a pivotal figure in the founding of Facebook (now Meta), will also feature prominently at the summit. As co-founder of B Capital, a global investment firm focused on technology, healthcare, and climate solutions, Saverin will discuss the region’s potential to become a leader in deep tech innovation. “While deep tech investment across the GCC has lagged, the region has the potential to lead in cutting-edge technologies,” Saverin noted.
Laura Chambers, CEO of Mozilla Corporation, will bring insights from her leadership at the organization behind the Firefox browser, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Chambers is expected to discuss Mozilla’s continued advocacy for open internet values, including privacy, transparency, and choice, as well as the company’s ventures into privacy-preserving advertising and AI ethics.
Web Summit Qatar will also host other high-profile speakers, including:
- Almar Latour, CEO of Dow Jones
- Sara Sabry, founder of the Deep Space Initiative
- Brian Robbins, CEO of Paramount Pictures
- Joy Robins, Global Chief Advertising Officer at the New York Times
- Yassine Saidi, Chief Product Officer at Under Armour
- Andrew Feldman, Co-founder & CEO of Cerebras Systems
- Raj Ganguly, Co-founder and Co-CEO of B Capital
Speaking about the significance of the 2025 event, Web Summit CEO Paddy Cosgrave said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Alexis to Doha this February.
His extensive experience in building transformative companies, combined with his dedication to fostering inclusive innovation, will bring invaluable insights that align perfectly with the entrepreneurial energy fueling the Middle East’s tech ecosystem.
Alexis will be joining an amazing group of speakers, including some of the biggest names in tech and innovation, like B Capital’s Eduardo Saverin and Mozilla CEO Laura Chambers.”
This year’s event builds on the success of Web Summit Qatar 2024, which attracted over 15,000 attendees, and underscores Qatar’s growing position as a global hub for innovation.
Ahead of the main summit, a Runway to Web Summit event was held in December, featuring local startups such as SkipCash (mobile payment platform), Adeer (AI business management solution), Wqtah (local experiences platform), and Kafy (food-tech).
