Fired National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff, has put the Supreme Court judgment behind him, calling for unity in the party.
The apex court on Wednesday declared Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic National Chairman of the party, ending a long-standing leadership crisis.
And following the verdict, Sheriff, who was not at the Supreme Court, took to his Twitter handle @SenAliSheriff to congratulated Makarfi.
“The Supreme Court has spoken. I congratulate Senator Makarfi. We must all put our hands together to channel a new course for the PDP.
“Moving forward, we must embrace true reconciliation, so as to be united as a formidable option to send the All Progressives Congress (APC) packing in 2019,” he tweeted.

On his part, Makarfi promised to ensure that all aggrieved members of the party embrace reconciliation.
He said, “We had always known that ultimately justice will be done. The battle we fought is not just for the PDP but for Nigeria and Nigerians.”
