Manchester United pulled off a dramatic 2-1 victory over rivals Manchester City in a thrilling Premier League encounter at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening.
Joško Gvardiol gave City the lead in the first half, heading in a precise delivery to put Pep Guardiola’s side in control. The defending champions looked dominant for much of the game, maintaining possession and creating several chances.
However, United staged a remarkable comeback late in the second half. Amad Diallo, who was a livewire throughout the match, won a penalty after a clumsy challenge by City defender Rúben Dias. Bruno Fernandes stepped up and calmly slotted the ball past Ederson to level the score.
Diallo then capped off his impressive performance with the winning goal, finishing a swift counter-attack to stun the Etihad crowd and secure all three points for Rúben Amorim’s team.
Despite the victory, United remain in 12th place on the Premier League table, while City missed an opportunity to close the gap on the league leaders.
