Arsenal’s 11-league game unbeaten streak came to an end as they suffered a 0-2 defeat against Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium.
Despite a strong first-half performance and numerous missed opportunities, Arsenal couldn’t find the back of the net, allowing Villa to capitalize with late goals from Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins.
In the first half, Arsenal dominated proceedings and created several scoring chances, but failed to convert.
Villa, however, remained resilient and struck the woodwork twice before eventually breaking the deadlock in the 83rd minute when Bailey found the net. Just two minutes later, Watkins sealed the win for Villa with his goal, dealing Arsenal a setback in their title aspirations.
Despite the defeat, Arsenal’s Declan Rice emphasized the importance of bouncing back and channeling the frustration into their upcoming Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
Rice urged his teammates to remain focused and positive, highlighting that there are still six games left in the season and plenty of opportunities to achieve their goals.
Arsenal now turn their attention to the Champions League, where they face Bayern Munich in the second leg, aiming to secure a spot in the semi-finals and redeem themselves after the disappointing loss to Aston Villa.
