Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has delivered some positive news for fans, revealing that Bukayo Saka is getting closer to making his long-awaited return from injury.
The England international has been out of action for more than two months due to a hamstring injury, missing several key games for the Gunners—including the tense draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s big Premier League clash with Chelsea this Sunday, Arteta shared an encouraging update on Saka’s recovery progress.
“He [Saka] is getting closer,” Arteta said during his pre-match press conference.
“He’s stepping up and making very good progress. Let’s see when we decide to throw him in, how he reacts, and how quickly he can regain full fitness.”
Saka’s return would be a huge boost for Arsenal, who are currently second in the Premier League, just behind Liverpool in the title race.
