The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has expressed sadness over the death of the opposition party’s former Board of Trustees Chairman, Anthony Anenih.
Anenih, who was appointed Minister of Works and Housing in 1999, died at age 85, on Sunday.
Atiku, in his condolence message on Twitter, said the passing of the elder statesman is a sad news to him and everyone who had a close and personal relationship with the former PDP BoT chairman.
He wrote; “The passing away of Chief Tony Anenih, one of the founding fathers and elder statesmen of @OfficialPDPNig is a sad news to me and everyone who had a close & personal relationship with him. I pray for strength and comfort for his family. May God grant his soul a peaceful repose.”
