Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has officially summoned the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and his Deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, for an inquiry into administrative appointments made during their tenure.
The summons was contained in a special announcement released on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika.
According to the statement, the inquiry is part of the Sole Administrator’s broader efforts aimed at restoring transparency and accountability in governance within Rivers State. Fubara has been specifically directed to present all relevant documents and records related to appointments made over the last two years, alongside clear justifications and procedures followed in making those appointments.

**“RIVERS GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
The Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, CFR, has formally summoned the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and his Deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to appear before him for an inquiry into the appointments made under their administration over the past two years.
Sir Fubara is directed to present all relevant documents and records pertaining to appointments, including justifications and procedures followed during his tenure. The session will also serve as an opportunity for the suspended Governor to provide a clear and detailed explanation as to why he believes he should be reinstated to office.

This summons follows President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State on March 18, 2025, citing a prolonged political crisis.
Following the declaration, Governor Fubara, his deputy, and members of the State House of Assembly were suspended, with Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas appointed as Sole Administrator.
