Barcelona on Tuesday announced the suing of PSG winger Neymar for breach of contract.
The clubside aims to be paid about €8.5m by the striker being the bonus they paid him for the renewal of his contract.
The Catalan club, still smarting from the loss of one of its key players, are also seeking an extra 10 percent in interests.
This is in addition to withholding €26 million bonus due to Neymar after renewing his contract last year.
Neymar had in 2016 signed a new five-year deal with Barca which had a €200m buy-out clause. The clause was triggered in the offseason by PSG and Barca could but watch as Neymar made the switch to France.
The Catalan giants have also passed the claim onto FIFA and the French Football Federation via the Spanish Football Federation to take what they see as “the appropriate legal effects”.
They are asking PSG to bear the cost of the settlement in the event that Neymar is unable to.
This disclosure comes on the heels of Neymar’s Sunday outburst where he criticised the Barca board.
“There are people in charge that shouldn’t be there,” Neymar told reporters.
“Barca deserve much more and everyone knows that.”
