Michy Batshuayi has signed for Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.
The striker will continue his development in Germany after 18 months at Chelsea during which he has made 53 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals.
The Belgian’s highlight in a Chelsea shirt so far arrived on 12 May 2017, when his close-range finish against West Bromwich Albion eight minutes from time secured us the victory we required to be crowned Premier League champions.
Batshuayi, who joined the Blues from Marseille in the summer of 2016, has regularly chipped in with important goals since signing, none more so than at The Hawthorns. Earlier this season he netted a last-minute winner in a brilliant victory at Atletico Madrid, and his two goals against Watford in October helped turn the game on its head after his introduction off the bench with Chelsea trailing.
Batshuayi makes the temporary switch to North Rhine-Westphalia fresh from helping us advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup with a brace against Newcastle on Sunday.
Borussia Dortmund are currently sixth in the Bundesliga, three points off second spot, and they have a Europa League last 32 tie against Atalanta next month.
