Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo yesterday in Kaduna said the the Federal Government is committed to make the great again and the only way to do that is to root out corruption from the country.
Osinbajo explained that the eradication of corruption will ensure the growth and development of Nigeria, saying that he is happy Nigerians can see from what the present administration is doing to end corruption.
Professor Osinbajo was speaking in Kaduna at the foundation laying ceremony of 2000 Housing units and the ground breaking of Galaxy Mall and Galleria.
He also praised the Kaduna State Governor for his developmental strides, saying Governor Nasir El-Rufai is an example of the face of change.
He said the All Progressives Congress, (APC) promise change and change is already taking place in Kaduna, “In the last election APC promise change and the people voted for us because they believed in change and they want change and change is already taking place in Kaduna.”
According to him, the projects, the Housing units, the Mall and Galleria and others, Shows that change has come to Kaduna, adding that change is possible and the APC government is ready to serve the people.
Osinbajo stated that Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai represent the change that APC is talking about and that he believes strongly that Kaduna State will be great again.
“The facilities that will be here will create jobs for the people and that is so important because as a government we promise to create jobs.”
The VP also said the first 2 million jobs that will be created by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, will be in the area of teaching.
His words “We want to ensure the enabling environment and capital for business people, Nigeria can be great if we end corruption, and you can see that this government will fight corruption.
“Government believes that Nigeria has the resources for us all to live reasonably comfortable.
“I believe in El-Rufai, that any thing he says he would do it. El-Rufai is a man of his words, and am looking forward to coming here to Commission this project when it is completed.”
He commended the Kaduna State Government and the State House of Assembly for collaborating for the rapid growth and development of the state, adding that “Am happy with the relationships between the executive and the legislature in Kaduna State.
On his part Governor Nasir El-Rufai explained that, “The shopping mall project is a Public-Private Partnership between the Kaduna State Government and the UAC Property Development Company (UPDC). One of the first corporates to demonstrate confidence in our government is the UPDC.
