Grammy award-winning artist Burna Boy has recently shared the heartfelt reason behind his extended stay in Nigeria, shedding light on his deep connection with family.
In a post on his social media platform, the “City Boys” singer disclosed that his grandmother has been the motivating force behind his decision to spend more time in Nigeria.
Burna Boy expressed that his grandmother used to eagerly await his return to Nigeria, particularly during the month of December, urging him to spend time with her.
The artist revealed that this family connection served as the inspiration behind his song “Thanks.”
However, in a poignant twist, Burna Boy shared that nowadays, his grandmother poses a different question, inquiring about when he plans to leave the country.
The singer suggested that recent events might be contributing to her concern.
Burna Boy’s post read, “My Grandma used to be the one crying for me to come back home, now she’s on edge every time I come back home and is already asking when I’m leaving. This is why I made ‘Thanks.’ I’m rolling with only her this December for peace to reign.”
