The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has declared that money bouquet is now considered a form of currency abuse.
The apex bank made this announcement through a tweet on Friday, aimed at educating the public on what constitutes as abuse of the national currency.
In addition to money bouquet, the CBN listed other forms of naira abuse as spraying, selling, squeezing, and defacing.
The bank emphasized the importance of protecting the integrity of the currency and called on all citizens to take an active role in this effort.
“It is your civic duty to protect the Naira,” the CBN stated in the tweet.
“Any form of abuse, whether it be through money bouquet, spraying, selling, squeezing, or defacing, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
