Chelsea have agreed terms with ex-Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri and are set to confirm the Italian as their new boss in the next 48 hours.
The Italian has been pushing for a switch to Chelsea for the past months, but has been frustrated in his efforts as he is still tied to Napoli.
According to Daily Express, Chelsea have now agreed a two-year deal with Sarri, which will finally release the coach from Napoli’s grasp.
Sarri’s arrival is set to trigger the £31m signing of Daniele Rugani.
The Juventus defender will be Sarri’s first major signing and could spark a flood of new faces at Stamford Bridge
The Italian also wants to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj, Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino, Nice midfielder Jean Michel Seri and Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas.
Former Chelsea player Gianfranco Zola is also set to become Sarri’s assistant coach.
