Chelsea Football Club has officially announced the acquisition of Ecuador international Moises Caicedo from Brighton, welcoming the 21-year-old midfielder to Stamford Bridge.
The club revealed that Caicedo has signed an eight-year contract, with a club option for an additional year.
Caicedo expressed his delight upon joining Chelsea, stating, “I am so happy to join Chelsea! I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me, I just knew I wanted to sign for the club. It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait to get started with the team.“
Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley shared their enthusiasm for the addition of Caicedo to the squad, emphasizing his remarkable skill set and the impact they believe he will make at Stamford Bridge under Mauricio Pochettino’s guidance.
Caicedo’s journey to Chelsea began in Santo Domingo, Ecuador, where he first started playing football.
His talent quickly became evident, and by the age of 13, he was already representing a regional select XI.
He later joined the youth ranks of CD Espoli and subsequently progressed to Independiente del Valle.
